Volunteer

What really gets you up and going in the morning?

Why not donate your time, doing the things you love to do, to your local historical museum? Share your experiences, your skills, your passions, or your hobby with fellow volunteers. Choose a volunteer activity below or submit your own “opportunity” to make a difference in your community.

Docent

Docents greet guests at the museum, explain and share our local history, give tours of the museum and historical buildings. Docents may be sharing with individuals or school groups.

Exhibits

Do you know how to paint, wallpaper, or sew? If so, we could use your talents. Work with other volunteers in creating a wide variety of exhibits depicting our history.

Grounds

Like the out-of-doors? There is mowing, trimming, weeding, and flower bed creation and maintenance. Keep that “green thumb” healthy.

Inventory

Maintaining archival records, artifact inventory, and photography are but a few of our needs.

Maintenance

Just like at home, something always needs fixing. Are you handy with a hammer or own an experienced screwdriver?  Work with other volunteers in creating new exhibits.

Research

Want to delve into the history of your community? Scour the library, Internet, or interview local residents for firsthand histories. Seek out grant funding sources for project development. Contribute articles for a newsletter or the website.
